A Vibrant, Heartfelt, Young, and Successful International Speaker, Author, Social Worker, Minister, and Mentor reaching the heart of today’s youth and young adults to give them inspiration through motivation. Her story is real and will capture the lives of many. Dr. Starr is the Founder and CEO of the award-winning agency, Ladies of Favor, Inc. a mentoring program that reaches girls by promoting abstinence, embracing spiritual guidance, increasing self-esteem, and building leadership. She has worked extensively with the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services advocating for foster care youth specifically commercially sexually exploited youth. She has a Master of Social Work degree and received her Ph.D. in Social Work Policy Planning, Administration, and Social Sciences from Clark Atlanta University in May 2017.
Dr. Starr is the owner of Starrific Empowerment, a company that enhances confidence and value to individuals in order to walk into their purpose. Dr. Starr is the Author of three inspirational books entitled "For My Good", "SHE Matters: A Girls Guide to Greatness", and her latest release, "Standards". Dr. Starr has traveled extensively for outreach ministry to touch the lives of girls from Ghana, West Africa to the Bahamas and throughout the United States. She volunteers her time in the community and has worked with countless organizations such as Georgia Juvenile Court, the Board of Health, National Association of Black Social Workers, Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation and the Princess Within event with First Lady Serita Jakes. She is a recipient of the Ruby Award presented by Soroptimist International, the Servant Leaders Award from the Clayton County Ministers Association and a graduate of Leadership Clayton. She and program efforts have been featured on CNN, Nickelodeon and other media outlets. She is a member of Upper Room Ministries under the leadership of Apostle T.D. Collins and also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Dr. Starr truly stands out as a star shedding light wherever she goes. Her passion and dedication to girls and women stem from her own experiences, overcoming life challenges. She realizes her test and trials have made her into the woman she is today. She lives by the motto, “All things work together for the good.” She is a native of Metro Atlanta and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
